The Rabbi Search Committee is pleased to announce the most current version of A Look in the Mirror has been posted to the Rabbi Transition page of the Congregation B'nai Shalom web site.

This document represents a compilation of the information that we have collected from congregants on who we are, and what our strengths, challenges, and opportunities are as a congregation, and focusing on what skills, qualities and characteristics we should seek in our new rabbi. It is a wonderful summary of the words, quotes, ideas and wishes collected, as well as a diagram of the important relationships at the center of our community.

The Rabbi Search Committee was careful to date this booklet (May 2011). This is because its members recognize that such a collection of words, ideas, quotes and wishes is applicable only at a given moment. At times in the future, congregants might answer the questions we have asked differently, or have priorities and concerns other than those expressed on the preceding pages. We expect that this document will continue to be enhanced as we collect more information and grow as a congregation and community.

Our sincere thanks to all who contributed to this publication via our many outreach efforts. We hope you found the Congregation Conversations, Temple Meetings, phone calls and visits to be enlightening and enjoyable. We offer a special thanks to the Board of Directors, staff and past presidents who reviewed preview copies of the document and provided feedback to improve upon the presentation.

Please take a few minutes to read through A Look in the Mirror. We welcome your feedback.

Regards,
Jeff Govendo and Heidi Swanick
